Kettle Cup 2008

CONGRATULATIONS LMSA!

Heading for the finish line.... Saturday, Kettle Cup 2007

To all the people who sailed or helped run the 6th Annual Kettle Cup Regatta, THANKS! As most of you know the Regatta was a tremendous success. We had 26 boats on the water and it seemed at least twice as many volunteers helping run the activities. The weather was beautiful and we had a very full weekend. Best of all, we raised approximately $2000 for the Salvation Army of Seminole County. This contribution, more than double last year's amount, goes to help needy children in our area have a better holiday season. I'm very proud to be a part of a group such as ours.

On the water, the racing featured very close contests divided into five classes. We had some good air on Saturday and challenging light air sailing on Sunday. All 5 races were completed as we had hoped. The individual and cumulative results are available on the Results page. I'm not going to try to name all the people that made this event possible, it would take up the whole page and would certainly leave some out accidentally. Suffice it to say that without the whole hearted involvement of the whole Lake Monroe Sailing Association and other members of the sailing community this Regatta could not have come off so perfectly!

Please help me in giving special recognition and thanks to Bill and Bernice, our Regatta Chairs, they kept this regatta on track all year and what a result!

Congratulations again for an event well done!  Hope to see you on the water during the holiday season and also next year. Keep your ears and eyes open for information on our next event: The Trans-Monroe Regatta.  Come join US!

Fair Winds and Seasons Greetings!
